If you start fresh, you start at level 14 and you can choose to select from a set of skills, or assign skill points yourself. #1.
The main protagonists now also properly speak to eachother in the entire game, not just in de last part (like the original Dead Island). Riptide has better mission structure, better mechanics, better everything. Only problems I have with the game is the ending and the fact the game is quite short. I see 0 reason to play the original game over
