Does anyone know the location of the Glow Plug Relay on the X250. I'm having the "Check Glow Plug" come up o the dash, it flashes a few times and then goes out. V Hi, this is my first post here. When the garage tested my glow plug they used a massive multimeter to test the current draw of said plug. I forget the exact amount of amps, but it was around 25 if I remember rightly, which they said was fine. A normal test meter isn't up to the job because of the massive currents involved, it needs a special meter.

OBD II fault code P0683 is a generic code that is defined as “Glow Plug Control Module to PCM Communication Circuit”, and is set when the PCM (Powertrain Control Module) detects a communication failure between itself and the glow plug control module. Note that this code applies only to applications with compression ignition (diesel) engines.

It should be a half hour job so expect to pay a labour charge of between £15 to £40. The glow plug itself is only about £15 and my local Fiat specialist only charges £30 for the whole job. Tell the garage VERY clearly which cylinder needs a new glow-plug. Hopefully, the garage should report that you correctly diagnosed a faulty glow plug.
